As of July 1, 2026, child care licensure is managed by the Illinois Department of Early Childhood. For providers, nothing is changing. If you received notice of an indicated finding of child abuse and/or neglect, you have certain Rights and Responsibilities.

There will be a prehearing by telephone held by the administrative law judge to set the date of your hearing. Read some examples of the admonishments read by the administrative law judge at the prehearing when selecting hearing dates.
