As of July 1, 2026, child care licensure is managed by the Illinois Department of Early Childhood. For providers, nothing is changing. All licensing representatives and staff remain ready to assist you. Protecting Kids

Children rely in the adults in their lives to keep them safe. Whether it’s providing constant supervision to an infant while she is in the bath, making a fire escape plan with your family, talking to your children about safe and unsafe touches or making a call to the Child Abuse Hotline if you believe a child may be suffering from abuse or neglect, everyone plays a role in ensuring children grow up happy and healthy.
