Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol Advisory Committee (CERAP)

On September 7, 1994 Senate Bill 1357, which became PA 88-614, was passed in response to increased maltreatment of children in Illinois. This bill required the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to form a multi-disciplinary task force to develop and implement a child endangerment risk assessment protocol. In addition, the task force shall advise the department related to training, method for demonstration of proficiency in application of the protocol and evaluation of the reliability and validity of the protocol.
